Ross Barkley set for spell on sidelines

Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley appears set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury in training this week.

Barkley played 56 minutes in the embarrassing 3-0 home defeat by Bournemouth on Wednesday, and was forced to train the next day.

The 24-year-old’s latest injury is set to become Chelsea’s eighth hamstring injury of the season, something that has caused the Club to investigate Antonio Conte’s training methods.

Barkley in action
Ross Barkley faces even more time out on the sidelines as Chelsea’s injury list grows.

The Englishman will join Alvaro Morata, Victor Moses, N’Golo Kante, Gary Cahill, Cesc Fabregas and Willian on the list of players who have experienced hamstring injuries this season.

It is expected that Barkley will miss Monday’s trip to Watford and with the FA Cup and the Champions League tie against Hull and Barcelona respectively, on the horizon, it is hoped that Barkley’s injury is not too serious.
