Chelsea have agreed a fee with Arsenal to bring Olivier Giroud across London to Stamford Bridge this month.
The Blues are in search of a forward as Michy Batshuayi looks increasingly likely to move to Germany to join Borussia Dortmund.
This is as a result of Arsenal agreeing a fee with Dortmund for Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, and with Giroud preferring to stay in London, Chelsea have enquired for his services.
Any deal will likely go to the wire with talks set to be progressing well, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, which would leave Chelsea getting a forward after all, even if it isn’t their first choice.
His colleague also notes that the Giroud deal will only go through once Aubameyang completes his move to Arsenal.
Olivier Giroud will provide back-up to Alvaro Morata if he were to join the Blues, and could join the club this month alongside Ross Barkley, and Emerson Palmieri, who is set to undergo a medical on Tuesday.
However developments have once again occurred as Chelsea have agreed a £15m fee with Arsenal for Olivier Giroud.
Anything can happen in the transfer window as Chelsea supporters have already seen in recent weeks. Let’s hope another deal can be finalised in the coming days.
