Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers looks to have fended off competition for Chelsea starlet Charly Musonda, as the Bhoys look to secure the Belgian on loan.
Musonda is set to sign an 18-month loan deal with the Scottish side which will see him join Celtic until the end of the 2018/19 campaign.
The 21-year-old had acquired interest from Spanish side Leganes, but according to the Daily Mail, the Bhoys have won the race for the 21-year-old.
He was left out of Antonio Conte’s side on Wednesday which lost to Arsenal in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup, and this move could explain the reason why.
The Chelsea head coach also commented on the speculation in his pre-match press conference ahead of Newcastle of Sunday: “To sell, to buy, to go on loan there is the club who will inform me about these situations. He is available.”
With the availability for Musonda confirmed, the move looks to be all but completed. The Belgian will join a whole host of Blues players who have departed the club on loan.
All the best, Charly!
