Chelsea are set to lose another left-back in a matter of days as Baba Rahman is ever closer to rejoining Schalke 04 on a loan deal.
The Blues lost Kenedy to Newcastle United recently as he sealed a move to the North East until the end of the season and now it looks like Rahman is heading through the exit doors at Stamford Bridge.
According to German outlet Kicker, the 23-year-old has agreed terms with the Bundesliga side, and has passed a medical. It also reports that an announcement is imminent for the left-back.
The move is set to be an 18-months loan deal, with Schalke beating Inter Milan and Everton to the Ghanaian’s signature, as per the Daily Mail.
Rahman had a loan spell with Schalke last season however the defender suffered a anterior cruciate ligament rupture, leaving him out for the rest of the season, and now he has only just recovered.
With Baba on his way out, Chelsea are eyeing Roma left-back Emerson Palmieri to provide cover to Marcos Alonso, and the Blues are reportedly in advanced negotiations with the Italian club.
