Match Preview: Arsenal vs Chelsea

Chelsea travel to North London on Wednesday evening as they face Arsenal in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup.

It’s 0-0 on aggregate as we head into the second leg of the competition as no side could gain an advantage going into the crucial tie at the Emirates.

Arsenal ran rampant at the weekend scoring four quick-fire goals in the first-half leaving Crystal Palace helpless at the Emirates, despite a late consolation goal from the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Chelsea went one better. The Blues secured a 4-0 victory over Brighton with emphatic performances from several of the players. Without six key players in the convincing win, it looked prior, that it was going to be a tough afternoon for the visitors, who hadn’t one in 2018 before the trip to the Amex.

With the second leg having it all to play for after the goalless draw at Stamford Bridge, it is going to be a cagey affair in North London.

Both sides are missing key players and Arsenal may fancy themselves considering they are at home, and will consider it an advantage, despite Arsenal Wenger playing it down.

In recent meetings, Arsenal have come out on top but with the sheer excellence Eden Hazard and a shaky Arsenal defence, as we saw in the league tie, the Blues could run riot if they take their chances.

Prediction: Arsenal 1-2 Chelsea
