Antonio Conte confirms Ross Barkley is in the squad to face Brighton

Antonio Conte has confirmed in his press conference ahead of the trip to Brighton on Saturday, that new arrival Ross Barkley will be in the squad to travel to the Amex Stadium.

Barkley arrived at Stamford Bridge earlier on this month but has yet to make his debut for the Blues as a result of picking up an injury prior to the 2017/18 starting.

Whether the attacking midfielder will feature or not is another question as Conte stated he was unsure whether the Englishman would play a part in the fixture.

He played in a behind closed doors friendly against QPR this week and scored twice, but his fitness was slightly lacking.

Pedro and Alvaro Morata were sent off during the FA Cup win on Wednesday, so Barkley could prove to be influential in picking up Chelsea’s first victory in 90 minutes on Saturday.
