Chelsea have renewed their interest in Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez, as a move away from North London edges ever closer.
Both Manchester clubs were reportedly the front-runners for the Chilean, whose contract expires in six months time with the Gunners.
However, Manchester City have pulled out the race due to valuing the move too high with the length of the contract which remains.
Reports are breaking on Monday evening that Chelsea are now making a late attempt to sway the forward to West London despite Manchester United already coming to an agreement, according to several sources.
The only problem is the wages. Chelsea have never given £400,000 a week to a player before and with trying to pen down Eden Hazard down on a new deal, they have a decision to make.
If the Blues draft Sanchez to Chelsea, it would make him the highest paid player at the club, and with the future of Eden Hazard in doubt, it could give the Premier League champions some security.
But if quality players are added to the ranks in West London, it could tempt the likes of Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois to extend their stays at the club.
Just imagine Eden Hazard and Alexis Sanchez together, but it could be a little too late…
