Chelsea youngster Lewis Baker has been out on loan at Middlesbough this season, however the midfielder could be about to return to West London this month.
The 22-year-old was brought in at Boro’ by then manager Garry Monk, however he was then shown the door by the club and Tony Pulis was brought in.
Since then, Baker hasn’t made a single appearance under Pulis, and as the Northern Echo report, he hinted that the attacking midfielder could depart the Championship club early.
“With Lewis, the decision is simple – he either stays or he goes. That’s the decision, and there’s no secret about it. He’ll either go back because he wants to play, or he gets his head down, stays here, and tries to get in the team here to play.
“If he can do that, then brilliant. But it’s all about what we can do as a football club, for the good of the football club.”
Baker will join Ike Ugbo and Kasey Palmer as the pair also returned early from their loan spells earlier this month in search for another club. Ugbo has sinced joined MK Dons.
A season with promise for the highly rated youngster could end in search for another club to get regular minutes in order to continue his development.
