Nathan’s loan move to Belenenses has seemed to have stalled due to “bureaucracy complications”.
O’Jogo reported on Tuesday that the 21-year-old Brazilian was in Lisbon to sign with Portuguese Premier League side on a season-long loan. It was intended that Nathan was to be presented on Wednesday but this did not materialise.
Nathan signed for Chelsea in 2015 for €4 million from Brazilian club, Atletico Paranaense, but has still not made his debut for Chelsea.
The attacking midfielder first signed for Vitesse Arnhem on loan, along with Isaiah Brown (now at Brighton) and Lewis Baker (now at Middlesbrough). Nathan spent two seasons on loan at Vitesse, scoring seven goals in 51 appearances for the Dutch side. On transfer deadline day, Nathan moved to French side Amiens, mainly playing for their reserve side.
An agreement between Chelsea and Belenenses has been reached for Nathan’s services and the player has successfully completed a medical. It just seems that a complication in the paperwork is holding up the deal.
