Thomas Lemar is on the Chelsea shortlist for this month, as reported previously by respected journalist Matt Law of the Telegraph. However, reports followed that his club, Monanco, were not prepared to listen to offers until the summer.
Reports have emerged on Sunday morning via L’equipe, stating that the French club may now be willing to listen to offers for the 22-year old winger this month.
This has alerted the likes of Liverpool, who have of course just lost star player Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona, and will be seeking out replacements as soon as possible. Arsenal are also very keen on the French International.
Sky Sports however, have stated that Liverpool are not interested in signing Lemar this month, and will wait until the summer for replace Coutinho.
So with Chelsea having just signed Ross Barkley, will they be pursuing this particular target? Well there was the somewhat ludicrous mention that the blues were looking at Lemar as an option to play left-wing back, providing the extra coverage needed that area. But for me this seems unrealistic.
But he is most certainly a Chelsea target for this month and this story is likely to develop over the coming days.
