Match Preview: Norwich City vs Chelsea

The FA Cup is back this weekend for the Blues as they travel to Carrow Road to face Championship outfit Norwich City on Saturday evening.

Chelsea head into the cup tie off the back of a draw in the London derby to Arsenal on Wednesday evening. It was 2-2 as late goals swayed the outcome of the match. Jack Wilshere got the games’ first goal but a few minutes later Eden Hazard struck from the penalty spot.

The final minutes were counting down and Chelsea thought they had netted a late winner through Marcos Alonso. A tap in from the Spaniard with five minutes to go set the Chelsea fans into delirium. But Arsenal had the last laugh, a sweet strike from Hector Bellerin shared the spoils in the north versus west London battle.

Meanwhile, Norwich City who play hosts on Saturday, are unbeaten in their last three and beat Millwall on New Years Day and will fancy a cup upset against the Premier League champions.

Team News

Chelsea welcome the returns of David Luiz and Charly Musonda, as the pair look set to feature in this weekend’s cup tie at Carrow Road.

However, Eden Hazard is a doubt for the Canaries as he was substituted at the Emirates after picking up a knock in his calf.

Norwich will be without Sean Raggett and Marco Stiepermann as City boss Daniel Farke confirmed the game had come too early for the duo.

Prediction

Chelsea should have beaten Arsenal, the lack of finishing chances cost the Blues heavily and they will be looking to put that right as they go on their travels again this weekend.

The last time the sides met at Carrow Road, Chelsea narrowly won 2-1 however the Canaries haven’t beaten the West London side since 1994 when they cruised to a 3-0 win.

However, quality will tell in the end this weekend. Chelsea will be looking to extend their unbeaten run and to secure another cup run, in the lead up to their first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Arsenal next week.

Prediction: Norwich City 0-3 Chelsea
