Eden Hazard is a player that Real Madrid have been interested in for weeks and now there is even more speculation around the Belgian.
Spanish outlet Marca are reporting that Madrid are set to abandon their chase for Hazard in order to focus on keeping highly rated Spaniard Marco Asensio at the club.
The Belgian international’s future has become highly uncertain following reports from his father that he had refused an extension. However, Hazard had not received any contract offer, simply due to the fact that it was too early to start negotiations. Eden’s current deal lasts until the summer of 2020.
Real Madrid were considered to be at the front of the queue should Hazard leave. However, any move appears to be off due to the rise of Marco Asensio, who is highly regarded at the Bernabeu.
Directors at the Bernabeu worry that a move for Hazard would stall the development of the Spanish youngster.
However the Sun report, that Zinedine Zidane’s side are willing to make a bid of £120m for the Belgian in an attempt to lure him away from Stamford Bridge.
It would be a huge loss to see Hazard go, but with various sources giving various details and answers around the future of the Belgian, who are we going to believe?
We can only hope the Madrid cooling their interest is correct.
