Chelsea fans give their verdict ahead of upcoming Arsenal fixtures

Derby days are what many supporters live for, the rivalry, the animosity between the two sides, and some may say Arsenal and Chelsea don’t have that towards each other but nonetheless, they want the bragging rights.

We travel to the Emirates twice in January, one in the league and one in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-finals.

The Premier League is nearly out of reach, despite Manchester City dropping points on New Years Eve against Crystal Palace, and a cup final place beckons at Wembley in February.

Chelsea were beaten 2-1 by the Gunners in the FA Cup Final back in May.

The Blues are without a win against Arsenal in three, drawing the most recent fixtures, and losing to the Gunners at Wembley twice, the FA Cup Final and the Community Shield.

We asked Chelsea fans, if they could have one victory against Arsenal at the Emirates, which one would they choose. A chance to get three points in the league, or to send Chelsea into a cup final.

The result was, beating them in the Carabao Cup sem-final. The majority of 61% obviously believed that it is one of our only hopes of silverware as we sit 14 points off the top of the Premier League.

One Chelsea supporter got around the question rather well:

Of course Chelsea want to win both, and will be vying for victories in all the upcoming fixtures against the North London side, but recent record in competitive fixtures doesn’t show well.

Let’s hope that can change.

We travel to the Emirates on Wednesday evening in the first of three showdowns against Arsene Wenger’s men in January.
